Xbox-Branded Meta Quest 3S Headset Leak Hints at VR Collaboration Launching June 24

Some intriguing new leaks suggest that Microsoft’s next big hardware move might be in virtual reality — and with Meta, no less. Images circulating online show what appears to be an Xbox-branded Meta Quest 3S, potentially set to launch as early as June 24.

Shared by reliable tech leaker @Zuby_Tech, the images reveal a sleek, black version of the Quest 3S with a distinctive green-accented faceplate, mirroring Xbox’s signature aesthetic. The packaging also shows an Xbox controller, which will reportedly be included in the box along with an Elite strap and three months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, according to a report from Game Sandwich. The bundle is expected to retail for $399 and offer 128GB of storage.

If this turns out to be true, this would mark the second Xbox-branded third-party device this month, following the reveal of the Asus ROG Ally Xbox Edition. It’s a strong signal that Microsoft is pivoting toward hardware partnerships to push the Xbox ecosystem further — not through proprietary hardware, but by building bridges with existing tech giants. In fact, reports have claimed that Microsoft even scrapped its own handheld plans to double down on third-party collaborations and continue evolving Windows as a gaming-first platform.

This new Quest variant appears to target entry-level VR users, offering a more accessible starting point compared to the premium Quest 3. While Sony’s PS VR2 recently dropped to the same $400 price point, it requires a PS5 or PC to run — unlike the standalone Quest 3S, which can function independently.

Don’t expect any exclusive games for this headset, though. The Quest 3S Xbox Edition is expected to fully support the existing Meta Quest library, while also offering compatibility with Xbox Cloud Gaming — meaning players could stream titles from Game Pass in a virtual theater-like experience.

If the rumors are accurate, this could be a major moment for Xbox’s cross-platform ambitions — and a surprising twist in the VR space just as Meta and PlayStation battle for mainstream adoption.
